We'll set off from Hotelli Kolari for Venejärvi village and Sami's Reindeer farm at 9am. Sami and his family are waiting for us at the still functioning reindeer farm. After a welcoming cup of coffee we'll make acquaintance with the reindeer and pick out the animals coming along for the hike. We'll leave the buzy modern life behind and set out to meet the tranquil lappish way of life in the wilderness.

During our hike the reindeer will carry all the luggage in their backpacks and we'll get to lead them on a leash. There are many historical sites in the forests which Sami will tell us stories about as we pass them. We'll visit an old reindeer fence, inspect cracks in the rocks, walk through the ancient forest and stop on the shores of historical Ancylus Lake. Half way through our hike we'll stop for a snack by open fire.

Back at the reindeer farm we'll sit down for a original local reindeer-meal. After a slow and enjoyable meal we'll set off back to Hotelli Kolari.
