We'll set off from Hotelli Kolari for Venejärvi village and Sami's Reindeer farm at noon. Sami and his family are waiting for us at the still functioning reindeer farm.

At the farm we'll get to meet the reindeer hearded in a fence. We'll go inside the pen amidst the reindeer-dock and feed lichen to the friendly reindeer. Farmer Sami shows us how to harness a reindeer and we'll get to take a reindeer for a short walk.

We'll also be able to test our abilities as reindeer farmers in ancient reindeer-hearders skill of Lappish lasso throwing. Sami's family offers us a cup of coffee cooked on open fire and a little snack while farmer Sami tells us about the year of the reindeer. Farmers wife Marjut guids us to her home gallery by the farm.

After listening to farmer Sami's stories about the old farmhouse and the occupants of the reindeer farm we'll head back towards Hotelli Kolari.
